This Park is a great park to land and see the sites of the Black hills. It is between Rapid City and Sturgis on I-90. The park is owned and maintained by Jacks Campers, which is a full service RV center located on site. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The backdrop is the Black hills. We stayed here for month and a half at ten dollars a night, (extended stay rate). The normal rate is $15.00 a night for full hookups, with level gravel pads, and grassy islands. Very nice set up but no trees for shade which wasn't an issue given the comfortable temps. We would stay here again without hesitation Great Place.

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the time at the park. Many of the sites look out onto the lake however access to the lake is very limited due to heavy brush along the shoreline. The other downside is the smell from local oil wells in the area which is usally strongest in the mornings. The campground is very well maintained and the sites are nice. We would stay here again and we have been impressed with the new mexico State Parks.

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The hot spring is great, and we sat in it during a light rain storm. The hot tub is very clean and has a continuous flow of warm water from the spring. The views are wonderful and the sites all look out toward the lake. The park has hiking trails and a lot of area to explore. The restrooms are clean and have two showers per facility. The camp host at the gift shop was very friendly as was the park ranger. We would with stay here again without hesitation.

The park is very nice and well maintained. Each site has a grass strip and the organized activities are great. The park is mainly long term and full time residents but approximately 50 spaces are available for over night or longer. The staff and residents are very friendly however security is lacking. Our vehicle was one of seven burglarized during the early morning hours. After speaking with several other residents I learned theft has been a frequent problem for several years. Several long term residents said they have lost bicycles and other property in the last two years. Even the alleged night security lost a set of keys and radio from the security golf cart the same evening our truck was burglarized. In my opinion security is seriously lacking especially given the past theft problems. Because of the theft problems I doubt we would return to this park unless better security is provided. Anyone off the street can easily enter the park as there's no gated security entrance. If not for the theft problems this would be a top rated park.

The park was nice and well kept from the appearance stand point. However folks traveling with dogs are not made to feel welcome. The park charges $5.00 extra per day for each dog, and the dogs are not allowed to be secured outside unless the owner is physically present with them. Being in the rig while the dogs are on a leash is not acceptable. The pet area consist of a very small dirt area with no fence The nightly rates are high however the park is nice. The other concern for us, was as another mentioned a ten dollar charge for a bathroom key. The money is refunded at the end of the stay, but makes it a real pain if you plan to leave early or arrive late at night. As many full time Rver's we travel with our dogs and we wouldn't return to the park given the dog restrictions and no real place to exercise them.
